CubeSat Mission Design Training under the Youth Satellite Development Initiative

EOS Orbit Co., Ltd. recently held a CubeSat Mission Design training session under the Youth Satellite Development Initiative, a project led by GISTDA (Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency). The initiative aims to nurture and develop Thailand’s next generation of satellite engineers. As the event organizer and training provider, EOS Orbit played a pivotal role in delivering the four-day training program, which gathered over 40 participants, including officers from GISTDA and students from the School Satellite Project.

Training Overview by EOS Orbit Engineers

The training provided a comprehensive and hands-on experience for the participants, offering both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for CubeSat mission planning. Key topics covered during the training included:

  • Introduction to CubeSat Design: EOS Orbit engineers shared an in-depth overview of CubeSat architecture, focusing on creating compact and efficient satellite designs that meet various mission requirements.
  • Mission Requirements & Design Specifications: The session guided participants in establishing mission objectives, and aligning these goals with payload systems, communication technologies, and power management solutions.
  • Satellite Subsystems & Integration: Participants had the opportunity to engage in practical exercises that allowed them to integrate critical CubeSat subsystems such as power, onboard computing, and communication systems.
  • Testing and Validation: EOS Orbit engineers also covered testing techniques and mission validation processes, equipping the participants with the tools to ensure that their CubeSat designs are reliable and ready for deployment.

Collaboration with Experts and Practical Learning

The training provided an invaluable learning experience, where GISTDA officers and School Satellite Project students had the chance to collaborate with EOS Orbit’s experienced engineers. The combination of lectures and practical exercises gave the participants hands-on experience in solving real-world CubeSat design challenges, fostering skill development in satellite technology.

Fostering the Next Generation of Space Engineers

The CubeSat Mission Design training is part of EOS Orbit’s ongoing commitment to the Youth Satellite Development Initiative, which aims to inspire and equip young talent with the skills necessary for the growing space technology field in Thailand. By providing this hands-on training experience, EOS Orbit is playing a key role in developing the next generation of skilled engineers in the country’s space sector.

The collaboration with GISTDA and the School Satellite Project highlights the importance of partnerships between educational institutions, government agencies, and the private sector in advancing Thailand’s space capabilities.

EOS Orbit is proud to contribute to shaping Thailand’s space future and is excited to see the impact these young engineers will have in advancing the nation’s role in global space exploration.
